Widely regarded as one of the oldest stone fabricators in Ireland, the Hickey family can trace their origins in the stone industry back over 250 years. We began as monumental sculptors, manufacturing headstones from locally-sourced Cork limestone in Aherla. When the quarries in Aherla were no longer viable, we expanded into the quarrying of limestone in Tipperary to ensure a constant supply of top quality Irish limestone for our products.
Following our move to Ovens in the early 1980's, Hickey's was one of the first companies in Ireland to expand into the manufacture of granite worktops and fireplaces, with our generations of experience in stone fabrication giving us that extra edge when it comes to handling natural and manufactured stone products.
While we are no longer involved in the quarrying of stone in Ireland, we regularly travel to the biggest stone processing countries in the world to hand pick our stone for our customers to again maintain a constant supply of the world’s best quarried natural stone.
We have continually developed and adapted to new processes and methods, and we now have a workshop equipped with the most advanced stone processing CNC machinery available. Coupled with an unparalleled level of craftsmanship, skill and knowledge of the stone industry, we manufacture to the highest standard possible. Testament to this level of quality is our award of Gold Fabricator status by the world's leading quartz supplier, Cosentino/Silestone, joining only a handful of stone fabricators across the UK and Ireland.
Along with a number of select stone processors in the world, we have recently begun processing Dekton, a revolutionary new ceramic-based product for use in worktops and facades, but with huge potential in the future for both indoor and outdoor applications.
